INSURANCE FAQ's
Many medical insurance caps and deductibles reset at the beginning of the calendar year. For example, the new Medicare Part B 'caps' or limits for 2010 are $1860 (for outpatient physical therapy and speech pathology combined) and $1860 (for outpatient occupational therapy). However, you may qualify for an exception to therapy limits if deemed medically necessary.
Each insurance company differs when it comes to plans and coverage for services, including physical and occupational therapy. It's a good idea to contact your insurance company or companies at the beginning of each year so you can be aware of any changes or updates in your medical coverage. 10/9/09: Strain Counterstrain Seminar
Lynden Kurtz, P.T., in conjunction with The Jones Institute, held a Strain Counterstrain seminar for healthcare professionals October 9th-11th at ProRehab. The class, SCS1 for the Spine, emphasized devloping palpatory and hands-on treatment skills as well as understanding the neuromuscular basis for SCS. Lynden Kurtz is the only Physical Therapist in the area who is registered as an SCS provider with the Jones Institute.
5/13/09: Back Pain Seminar
Heather A. England, PT, DPT presented a free informational public seminar about low back pain on May 13th. The presentation focused on how the Lordex Spine System can help relieve pain from disc problems, spinal stenosis, sciaticia, spinal arthritis, and acute, chronic low back pain. Due to high demand, Dr. England will be offering another seminar this fall. 10/1/08: National Physical Therapy Month
October was National Physical Therapy Month!! The 2008 theme is "Physical Therapy: It's All About Movement". R. Scott Ward, PT, PhD, the president of the American Physical Therapy Association, stated, "Movement is essential to our everyday lives. Having the ability to move safely and effectively is crucial in our lives and the lives of the people physical therapists treat. Physical therapists are the movement experts." To celebrate National Physical Therapy Month, ProRehab took registrations and congratulates Patty S., the winner of a complimentary one-hour massage from REJUVENATIONS by ProRehab.

8/20/08: Public Forum on Low Back Pain
Heather England, D.P.T., presented a free public seminar on low back pain Wednesday, August 20th. ProRehab co-founders and physical therapists Lynden Kurtz and Tom Baumgartner were special guests on the "Wellness Show" on the Mighty 790. They answered questions and discussed the latest in physical therapy, including revolutionary treatments, pain management and eradication techniques, and preventative care.
